Since our name and company is Pro Lessons, we get asked all the time how much advanced online guitar lessons cost.

In order for us to best answer this particular discussion in regards to advanced players and lessons, we will have to take a look at all the factors that influence the pricing of advanced online guitar lessons.

Some of these items are:

  • Who teaches the advanced lessons?
  • Is it better to learn from the same instructor or should I take lessons from several instructors?
  • I am a pretty good intermediate player. Can I find skilled instructors online?
  • How long are the lessons? Is there a system to help me become a seasoned player?
  • What if I have a particular question that I need help with while taking advanced online lessons? Do I have to pay more if I need help?
  • Because I am starting the advanced online courses, does that mean the online price goes up for these particular online lessons?
  • I’m a little traditional in my previous experience of taking guitar lessons and will be new to the online guitar lesson process. Can I really get to the next level by taking online lessons? What should I expect to pay for these lessons.

Let’s dive into these pressing questions and take a look to see which factors, if any, affect the price of advanced online guitar lessons.

Who teaches the advanced online guitar lessons?

We get it. You are a very good guitar player with many hours invested into your craft. Most people are willing to pay for the right advanced teacher. However, that being said, nobody wants to sign up for lessons only to find out the “advanced” instructor has only a little more experience than they do as an intermediate player.

So how do you handle this and how does this affect the cost? In short, make sure you research which online company you subscribe to for advanced online guitar lessons. We recommend you only learn from sites that strictly use professional touring or session players as their instructors. Remember, there is a difference between a professional teacher and a professional tour player.

One plays triple AAA baseball but has never quite made it to MLB. As far as how this affects the cost, I would say two things:

1.     Learning from the right site that has the right instructors teaching advanced lessons should not increase the price. However…

2.     If you in some way asked specialized questions that were not covered, or requested a one-on-one lesson with a particular instructor, some sites may charge you for the individualized attention, if they are able to accommodate your request. Again, make sure you do your homework before you sign up.

Some things to look for – Gimicks – where you sign up for free, can be a red flag.

Also, any company where they do not show you ahead of time their instructors and bios is another red flag. Again, if you research the websites thoroughly before making an commitments, you should be able to find a great site to learn advanced guitar.

Is it better to learn from the same instructor, or should I take lessons from several instructors?

As we mentioned in the above paragraph, it is always a benefit when you can learn from several different instructors. This is for various reasons. Everybody is wired a little differently; some people are introverts, while others are extroverts.

Any site with multiple instructors allows you a better chance of finding someone who you gel really well with.

In addition, it always helps to learn from the group. What we mean is: try and focus on picking up the one or two things each instructor does really well. In doing this, you will not only learn from the best of the best, but you will get the best one or two things from each pro instructor. This will give you a huge advantage over learning everything from the same instructor.

How much do advanced online guitar lesssons cost?

I am a pretty good intermediate player. Can I find skilled advanced instructors online?

This is a fair and good question. To answer the question briefly – yes, you can find advanced skilled instructors online.

Again, make sure you thoroughly investigate the site and do your due diligence. At Pro Lessons, we are able to leverage our relationships with many pro instructors that would never teach guitar lessons on a regular basis, but because of our working relationships, they have agreed to lend their knowledge and expertise.

Therefore, you are able to learn from the best of the best. Make sure that whatever company you choose has reputable experienced pros.

How long are the lessons? Is there a system to help me become a seasoned player?

Most online lessons vary between the lengths of time. Content and expertise is more important than actual time.

Most online sites have so many lessons, whether they are 3 minutes or 30 minutes, it would take you days, if not weeks, to fully watch them all straight through. In addition, the main reputable sites do have systems to take you from point A to point B. What I mean by this is that there is a roadmap developed for people of all proficiencies.

I like to compare it to dieting. Most diets can get you where you want to be. The key is to actually sticking to the diet. The same is true of advanced online guitar lessons.

What if I have a particular question that I need help with while taking advanced online lessons? Do I have to pay more if I need help?

From time to time all students have questions. Most online lesson companies have been asked about everything under the sun. So there is a good chance that your particular question or topic has been addressed. If for some reason you can’t find the answer to your question, remember the company is there to help. Most online companies have email and contact information and actually encourage questions. Typically, you will not be asked to pay any more for the extra help unless your request requires individual time or attention such as one-on-one lessons, or a Skype lesson.

Because I am starting the advanced online courses, does that mean the online price goes up for these particular lessons?

No. While you are typically learning harder lessons that encompass more in-depth material, most online sites do not require any additional money for these advanced courses.

In depth content does not relate to more money.

I’m a little traditional in my previous experience of taking guitar lessons and will be new to the online guitar lesson process.  Can I really get to the next level by taking advanced online lessons?

By all means, you should be able to progress quite nicely to the next level. Most online lesson companies will help you realize where you are as a player in the process, and then help put you on a customized path for getting to the next step (whatever that may be for you).

Lessons are typically grouped into categories that allow you to quickly process the lessons that are for your experience and particular level.

While this all can sound too good too be true, remember, the day in time in which we live: If you can have all your friends at your fingertips via social media, why not have your guitar instructors with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

What should I expect to pay for these lessons?

In closing, as a general rule, most online advanced lesson companies are priced right at $19.95 a month.

Many offer incentives and plans for you to choose between.

At Pro Lessons, we have three incentive plans:

·      5 days for only .99 cents (Good)

·      Pay monthly for only $9.99 (Better)

·       Pay yearly for only $99.99 and receive 7 months FREE! (Best)
